I am looking for a program where I can pick and chose my own parts of songs and create ringtones out of them for my cell phone. Does anyone know what program I could use to do this? Preferably free?

I needed to do the exact same thing a few days ago. Search (google) for "mp3 split" or "mp3 splitter". There are quite a few programs which are free, or which allow you to split an MP3 into a limited number of pieces (unlimited if you pay). I can't remember for sure which one I used because they are all called the same 'mp3 splitter' 'mp3 trim' 'split mp3' etcetera. Just find one that works for you!

The best one I've tried is Bit Pim! It works great and lets you EASILY choose where to start and where to stop on the song to make your ringtone. And P2KCommander works great to manage fiels on your phone.

the latest version of windows media player has an editing part. you can use this to edit, save the file and transfer it to your mobile phone via blue tooth, USB or any other transfer method. there are various other softwares. search for "2cows" on the internet or "Cnet".. these are free software download websites.

Cooledit Pro. Try it, very simple to use. Just load the song file, mark selection you want, cut and paste to new file. Then save. Presto
