Is earth heading for disaster? Everythig seems to point in that direction. It is like a train on tracks and nothing will be able to stop it. Man will eventually self distruct but, will this be the end, and if so what is the general opinion as to how the earth will come to its end? Try and have some case law or point of reference, for this is not a joke.

The Bible says
2 Peter 3:3-7
3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
It goes on to say what the world is like at this second coming.
war, destruction, crooked legal system.
Basically it could be anytime, these things have been going on for 80 yrs. But we are also told to be ready in other words, always be ready. And this will not be the end, just a new beginning. Jesus will bring forth the living and the dead, and they will be Judged by fire. (And that is how the world will be destroyed as well with fire )And those wose names are written in the book of life, will go on to rule on a new earth with a new King. Jesus Christ. There is no reason to fear any of this but we do because it's differnt from what we know. God loves us and is waitng for us to come to him. Well, Ingocnito, there are a lot of christians out that they really really really hate their lives. When it's a sin to commit suicide, why not hope extra hard for the return of the son of man to "fix this place up". You are right that this is not a joke, but in a way it's hilarious. Christians go on and on about the judgement day. It's not gonna happen my friend. It's an excuse for the mindless to try to wish for a "better" life. Happy world ending!

As a christian, signs of the end times that are mentioned in the Bible are coming to pass. Countdown.org is a site I've been reading on.

There have always been chrtistian pessimists who believe in the worst. Unfortunately, Cheney might be one of them, a very fearful thought for all of us.
