Yes Shia perform Hajj in Makkah also. However there was a documentary about Shia's from Iran who were going to Karbala, though they weren't using the word hajj or umrah, it was translated and refered to by the narorator as a pilgrimmage.

There was actually sectarian concern last hajj because large numbers of both Sunni and Shia go to Makkah annually. Everything however went peacefully.

Hajj is therefore an obligation of all Muslims.

Throughout the world many Islamic sects some Shia or even Sufi visit shrines in Iraq, Iran , North Africa and India. These are lesser pilgrimages.

Excuse me!!! Muslims are, first Muslims and than Shia or Sunni or Barielvi. Hajj is farz on MUSLIMS, not Sunnis, Shias, or any specific sect. I'm not Shia, but I respect every other religious sect. You should not say such things. Every Muslims, no matter which sect he belongs, goes to Hajj.

Just to their council Chrisitan flat and to the Christian Bank for the Christian money... Maybe this is the new muslim Mecca...
