hi all,
i suffered from quite bad eczema as a child and now have odd patchy arms. my upper arm has white blobs that are scars from the eczema other than the colour my arms are normal the skin is smooth etc. I moisturise twice daily and have used pure vitamen e oil but to no avail does anyone else have this problem and know how to improve it?
I also was given a lot of steroid creams which i used daily for about 5 years on and off in my early teens mostly on my face. now i know they are really bad and lighten and thin the skin. i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to reverse the effects or could tell me how this will effect me later on as i age etc. ???
thanks.

thanks yea i stopped using the steroid cream a few years ago after finding some heavy duty moisturiser thats made for arctic explorers but the damage is still there. as for the fake tan i have tried it a lot but the colour doesn't take to the patches at all which is odd and they show up even more. they do tan slightly in sun but nowhere near the rate of the rest of my skin and i hae a history of skin cancer in the family so would prefer not to do that.

Get your GP to prescribe triamcinolone acetonide cream. It will make your skin heal like nothing was ever wrong.

tricky one, as soon as the skin goes to a different colour its very hard to for it recover as the pigmentation is lost. Best thing I found is fake tan to cover it and hopefully down the line the skin patches wont be as noticeable. I suffered when I was in my early 20's, but now 30 I still have a few small patches on my left arm, but cant really see them now but I know that they are there.

If your eczema problem has subsided, you don't have to use steroid cream daily...use it only if your eczema is recurring..
