Mixing 2 complimentary colours such as yellow & purple, red & green or blue & orange gives you a neutral gray to black - it is neither warm nor cool - depending on the ratio of course.

Since purple is technically part of the blue section of the colour wheel, mixing purple and yellow will result in a green colour. I imagine it would be quite a dark forest green.

Colour wheels and basic colour theory can be very useful when considering stuff like this. They can help you decide which colours go well together, for example. Here's an example of a colour wheel:

It sounded like a silly question, so I gave an appropriate answer. Experiment with colors and mixing. You may find something that really excites you. (just don't make it too muddy.) Be conscious of the values within a painting whatever colors you use.

Well, purple contains red and blue. You're mixing ALL the primary colors, so you're going to get a yucky brown color.
