Southern Sweet Iced Tea
Recipe #1

Ingredients

3 Family Size Tea Bags
2 Cups Of Cold Water
1 Cup of Sugar

Directions
We in the south make the best iced tea you'll find. Maybe it's how it's done, or maybe it is the water in the south, or maybe it's just that a southern belle has put a lot of TLC into making the tea. Who knows!

We recommend Luzianne Tea Bags if available.

Place the two cups water in a pot and add the tea bags. Bring to a boil, do not continue boiling. Remove from heat and let steep. Pour warm tea into empty pitcher. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Fill remaining pitcher with cold water.

Optional - some women say they use less water and add ice to the tea.

Southern Sweet Iced Tea
Recipe #2
Ingredients

3 family sized tea bags
a pinch baking soda (about 1/4 teaspoon)
1 to 1 1/3 cups of sugar

Directions
Here is my never fail sweet tea...
Everyone (even yankees) loves it.

Bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of baking soda to the water and add 3 family sized tea bags. Remove from heat and cover. Allow to sit for at least 10-15 minutes. Pour into gallon pitcher and add sugar. Then fill with cold water. Refrigerate.

*the soda takes out the bitterness and darkens the tea....this small amount doesnt change the taste.

Enjoy!!

There really isn't any way to spice up iced tea. I usually use two family sized Tea bags, boil on medium for about a 1/2 hour and then mix with Splenda and then put in fridge. I know I have used Peppermint from the garden also. Or even spearamint.

Here, try this:

"Peach Iced Tea"

INGREDIENTS:
3 12-oz cans of peach juice
2 quarts tea
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice

PREPARATION:
Combine everything and chill. Serve over ice.

This recipe is much cheaper and more simplier than any other Iced Tea recipe. It's very easy to make because it comes with simple recipe. It's very practical 'coz you can make an iced tea with much more thrill in it than your usual iced tea mix.

Here are a few ideas:

1. Add a squashed kumquat or two instead of lemon
2. Put the tea and ice cubes in the blender, and make a tea slushie. Nice with a little extra sugar.
3. Add the juice from canned fruit to your tea instead of sugar. You can make peach tea, mandarin orange tea, pineapple tea, etc.
4. Experiment with different kinds of tea. I quite like Jasmine tea, hot or cold.
5. Green tea and mint, served over ice.
6. Take fresh mint, sugar and several ice cubes, and put it in a liter jar. Shake vigorously, and then add water or soda water. Garnish with lemon or a kumquat for mint tea. Super yummy, and great for when you've done too much on a hot day!

Have fun with them!

I don't know about everybody else, but here in North Carolina we do it like this: two family size tea bags two quarts water 2 cups of granulated sugar Add the tea bags to the water and boil. Just as it comes to a boil real well then take it off of the stove. Put 4 cups of very hot tap water in a gallon container and add the 2 cups of sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then add the pot of boiled tea, holding back the tea bags with a wooden spoon. Stir well and top off with ice cubes or cold water. That's good old Southern sweet tea

equal parts vodka, rum, gin, and triple sec. Add sour mix and a splash of coke. Garnish with lemon. Long Island iced tea, by far the best kind of iced tea there is.
