I think that if we lived only to say 50 years old max, then we wouldn't be running around committing crime, doing bad things for self profit, hurting the ones we "are supposed to love"...like family.

I, myself, like my cats more than most of the adults in my family cause they don't have affairs, get caught, and then end up living on your sofa for a year!!! (Although I forget to clean the litter box thats next to the sofa on purpose-lol). I know my pets only have so much time so I tend to treat them better.

We only regret not spending time with relatives only after they die, and take them for granted while they are alive, assuming they'll be around till they are 100, so it's okay if I tell them "I wish you were dead!!!" every once and a while.

Also cheating, adultery, and any other type of "greener grass on the other side" type of behavior.

Even when the human lifespan was that long (about 50 years), society was still affected by those same social ills you mentioned. I think the only societal problems that a shorter lifespan would alleviate would be long-term health care and elder abuse.
