"4 x 5 x 2", which is 40.

4(a-2)2 when a=7
4(a-2)2 =
8(a-2) =
8a - 16 =
8*7 - 16 =
56 - 16 = 40
Is the second two ment to be a square ? If so, then:
4(a-2)² when a=7
4(a-2)² =
4(a² -2a -2a +4) =
4(a² -4a + 4) =
4(7² - 4*7 + 4) =
4(49 - 28 + 4) =
4(53 - 28) =
4(25) = 100

If we write it as 4 X (a-2) X 2 = 8a - 16, and given a = 7, we get 8a - 16 = 56 - 16 = 40
If it is 4 (a - 2)^2 i.e. (a - 2) square, then we have
4 ( 7 - 2 ) ^2 = 4 X 25 = 100

Try this:
4 (7 - 2)2 = 4(5)2 = 40
I have simply substituted the value of a = 7.
Hope this helps and don't forget to vote for this answer!!
