Not really no. You'd get a jolt, but South African electricity is set up as Alternating Current, so it shorts circuits if the flow is broken by say a finger or a utensil.

Please don't do that or let children do it. Many children are injured or killed each year playing with electrical sockets or wiring. There is enough current there to slow cook you if you make a circuit with it.
