yep and am proud to say I am "smoke free",Are you trying? It is a difficult thing to do, not only is it physical but social as well. You have to find new habits to replace your mouth and hands. I think that's why so many people gain weight. Go for a nature hike, enjoy what's around you, go to places that you can't smoke. You will go through a "with drawl" period but if you can get over that, you can do it. Every once in a while, I'll smell a cigarette on someone and it will smell good, I won't lie but the trade off is so worth it. I don't stink, I have more cash to burn, my teeth, fingers and clothes aren't yellow/stained. Play with clay/play doh/silly putty to keep your hands busy. Paint, painting is good, you can keep a brush tip in your mouth and paint with another! There are so many aids(gum, patch, etc...)I myself quit "cold turkey", I didn't want to string myself along. Good luck to you or anyone thinking about it.

I've tried a few times to quit smoking. The best I did was using a book called "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking". yeah, I still smoke though. I think you have to be in really the right frame of mind and you need to do it because YOU want to, not because other people tell you you should.

I quit smoking about 1 yr ago...cold turkey. Every now and then I crave one but not to bad. I have put a lil bit of weight on since then. My boyfriend smokes and I can't even stand the smell, but I deal.

Quit smoking mumblemumble years ago when I was in college. End of a tough semester and was writing 2 term papers, taking 2 math courses and studying for finals. Pencil in one hand, coffee in the other, and a Krispy Kreme donut in my mouth. Carried a pack around for a week and only had time to smoke one of them. Friend asked for a smoke, gave him the pack and never looked back.

I tried approximately 7 times, but I was recently put on Wellbutrin SR for severe depression, along with my Prozac, and it cuts your cravings away COMPLETELY. It is also sold under the name Zyban, it is used to help quit smoking. The way it works is: When you take Wellbutrin, each time you smoke, it blocks more and more of the drug entering your brain as the wellbutrin builds up in the brain. Freaking miracle pill I swear.

i never tried, until a 2-weeks-in bed - sore throat associated with cold. Couldn't even swallow anything, drinking was hard.

After this, I never want to smoke again.

I'm 18 years old!!

I didn't smoke for three years then started again. I'm getting ready to try that new drug Chantix to quit again. I've heard it's pretty harsh, but anything to quit.
