It really depends on where you are in Australia. This is a big country which is about the same size as continental USA. It really depends if you are inland, near the coast, north of the tropic of Capricorn or below that.

If you are up in the north - Queensland, Northern territory and North of Western Australia, then you can wear summer clothes as it will be warm - although in land area will be cool at night.

Lower part - say, Sydney downwards, it is autumn and as much as it is still warm, you can never tell as the temperature can change dramatically from day to day. Always have something to keep you warm. Night time inland can be cold now. Canberra is now looking at below 10 degrees celcius at night.

Really, it depends on where you are in Australia.

Depends where you're going. At the moment NSW is round the mid 20s during the day which is nice enough for summer clothing, but during the night can get rather cool, especially if you live anywhere near the ocean and the sea breeze gets to you. OLD, NT & WA You can get away with wearing summer clothing until mid May, even longer. TAS, VIC & SA you may want to pack some winter clothing. I reckon in a few weeks NSW will be packing away our summer clothes no matter where we live.

You can check the current weather at the Bureau of Meteorology website at http://www.bom.gov.au
If you want the climatic averages for any part of Australia, you will find them under Climate Services on that page.

Don't know about anywhere else at the present time.
The further south you go the cooler it will be.
After all it is Autumn.
