Nope, it's not a joke, it's the real deal. Not exactly a good aquarium fish eh? Here's a couple of links with some more info on them.

Actually it is found in the Congo river in Africa, But it is not the Congo fish. It's real name is hydrocynus vittatus (.This literally means 'striped water dog') Otherwise known as the Tigerfish. And yes, wouldn't that be just horrible to find swimming beside you?
