I have heard so many things like in movies etc saying you cant wear white after labor day! Why is this?

it's an old tradition! Some people do, some people don't! It all depends on how stuck you are on etiquite and such!
White was considered to be a spring and summer color! Labor Day is the close of the summer season and the beginning of the fall season! And of course, people didn't wear white, mostly white shoes, in the fall or winter-you just didn't!
However, most places have thrown out that rule! It's really up to you!

Because Carson from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy said so, that's why. Basically because labor day could be considered the start of fall, so it's time for fall colors and earth tones, where as white is more of a spring summeer color.

if i wear a white jacket after or before labor day for that matter, people would get the wrong impression and think someone is trying to take me away....LMFAO...seriously wear whatever you want and to heck with those people.

It's a very old rule of etiquette that nobody pays attention to any more. Like not wearing pearls in the morning. Why? I don't know.
