my husband once said he would forgive me if I ever cheated because of the things he's done wrong in past relationships. my friend (his friend's wife) said he's fibbing and that he'd go crazy if something like that happened. why would he say that?

If you can find a man who will forgive you for cheating on him then my advise to you is hang on to him because he is 1 in a million.Your husband was testing you to see if you would do it.

I am more jealous than I let on. I think a little jealousy...and I mean very little, helps flame our sexual desires for each other. It's an acknowledgement that we find our partner attractrive and desirable...and so do others. However, it is a fine line as anything beyond just a slight hint of jealousy can ruin the harmony and mutual trust in the relationship.
Strong desire carries a little jealously along with it. Your husband is trying to convince himself he is invincible. If he loves you, cheating would wreak chaos and havoc on your marriage.

Well, I am not sure if he mean what he said to you. But to me whatever he done wrong in the past doesn't mean it is okay for you to do the same thing to him, so it can be even. There is no such thing. Maybe, he is testing your love? See how far will you go. So be careful. He might forgive, but will he ever forget? That is the point.

It may be a test, it may have been something said to make you feel more special.
If he truly meant it was ok, then he just wants a woman at home, pure and simple.
Any man who feels it is ok for his wife to be with another man, doesn't care much about her at all.

Men are as jealous as women are... but men are more possessive. Most of them can't accept their beloved one showing more importance to some other person, esp another man.
But i guess women are comfortable with her guy moving freely with other women..
