Yesterday Oprah interviewed Rutgers womens team that was the butt of the Don Imus joke. But then Oprah later in the show was teaching hip hop dancing and was telling her audience she didnt want to look like "that white guy" at the party that can't dance.

I was totally offended by this "Racist" statement she made!!

...suppose if i (or any white guy) would tell a crowd of black people that i didn't want to look like "that black guy" at an Ozzy concert that can't mosh.

As a black guy, I wouldn't be offended. However, if I were at an Ozzy concert, I could most likely mosh (lol). I didn't hear Oprah's comment but I don't find her infallible; I guess she could have just referenced "the guy" who couldn't dance, just as Imus could have left "nappy headed" out of his description of the 'hardcore hoes' he referenced...

First off, Imus has said alot of such type of things bout alot of people, this is just the first time he's said anything bout blacks. I don't remember anybody makin a fuss bout all those previous times. Second, to Oprah saying the reason over there in Africa and not owing whites anything is racist. What about owing her country the U.S.A. something? 3rd. what the hell happened to freedom speach?

nicely, I believe you, to an quantity. No, Oprah wouldn't have made that remark, it become in poor flavor even if if she meant it as a shaggy dog tale. although, that doesn't excuse Don Imus, even if if he had no longer pronounced the "nappy headed" section, he nonetheless degraded those women human beings by ability of calling them "ho's" wheather they're Black, White, Hispanic, Asian or perhaps if. i think of maximum of u.s. is lacking the factor, this is not ok for every person to be disrespected. And Black human beings won't be able to continuously say even if approximately whoever, i think you do no longer bear in mind the blacklash for the remark Kanye West pronounced appropriate to the President no longer worrying approximately Black human beings in the wake of typhoon Katrina? the warm button is this, every person must be conscious of what they say while race is worried, because of the fact which you under no circumstances understand who would be offended. this is not ok for every person.

Of course it's racist. Oprah made a racist statement. But no one is going to fire Oprah. She owns the U.S. She once said she wanted Obama to be president and now he's running for president and just might win.
Oprah has enough money to put him in power.

You won't be seeing Oprah being fired for making racist statements anytime in the future.

It`s ok if you are black. I have had so many violations on this site its not funny. Welcome to america. The sad thing is the imus and sharpton scandals will die out in a week or two, and everyone will return to thier passive ways. Dont worry, i`ll still be here. Call whatever network she`s on and complain, even if it dosent work at least they`ll know were here.

I often wonder why if you make a blanket statement about whites, it's AOK ("White men can't jump") but if you make a similar statement about minorities you are labeled ignorant or racist or bigoted. I think we should start raising a stink about this and get performers and "artists" who do this thrown of the airwaves. I'm sick of it. It's either funny or it's not, if it's not (which we clearly learned this week), then it ALL has to go! (And by all, I mean in hippity-hoppity rap music too)

wow. i din't watch the show b/c i really dont care for her(many black people don't) in fact if you look at her audience most of them are everything but black. ne who thats not the pooint... i think that waht she said was racist but i don't think she ment it in a mean way. notice people laughed when she said this . tey were laughing with her. it's very natural for one to care more for their own race that others especially when your race is the majority of the minorities. (i hope yall caught that)

it s a stereo type that white ppl can't dance & that they have no rhythm... many can't many can. but it is a stereo type just like the girls w/ blnde hair are slow/dumb stereo type.

in so many words all oprah was trying to say was she didn't wanna be considered the person that can't dance(all blk ppl are supposed to know how to dance..this ties into the dancing stereo type )

this has nothing to do w/ the imus joke that was just pain mean & was ment to hurt ppls feelings. the thing i don't understand about the controversy is thats imus's job...to give his opinion. he just took it it a bit to far... so things you just keep to yourself. & he was only sorry b.c. he had to be. who dosen't stand by their opinions.

i htink alot of ppl are playin tick for tack w/ this whole racist comment thing. ppl know when it's not ment to be harmful & when it is blantant ... there is a prime example:
imus:blantant winfree:harmless joke

plz let this b.s go if you all hate he statement so bad write her a letter, maybe she'll read it on the air or give a public appoligy or something..if thats what you're looking for.... gosh

What she said was racist and wrong, but nothing will ever be done to her or said about her statements. All you can do is refuse to watch Lady O and let her sponsors know that you will not continue to buy their products as long as they continue to sponsor her. But your voice won't be heard because you are the master - white man.

If you were offended, take a stand for Oprah to get removed from her show. You have the right to do so.
