Sounds like your default font got changed by accident. Here's how to fix it!

1. First - right click your desktop, and goto "Properties" then click "Appearance tab

2. Then click "Advanced"

3. From here you can change all your fonts

Hi Vivster..

The following fonts are included with Windows and are installed on every computer:
• Courier New (TrueType, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Arial (True Type, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Times New Roman (True Type, including Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic variations)
• Symbol (TrueType)
• Wingdings (TrueType)
• MS Serif
• MS Sans Serif

Now that we got that out of the way. You might have installed a theme or a new font that was corrupt.
These fonts above should be replaced with a new copy from another computer.

If a theme was loaded you could change back to the default theme by going to your desktop. Right click. Click on properties. Display properties will open up..

Go to the appearance tab at the top and click on it. There you will see options to choose. Choose an option from windows and buttons. There the themes can be changed to the default xp theme (If you are using xp)

Click apply and ok. Now check to see if the problem was resolved. If not then you could replace the fonts or repair windows from a windows install disk.

This should fix the problem.
