Out of all the injustices encountered in this life, Imus has apparently commited the very one that can't be forgiven.

Racism isn't mere words. Racism is an issue of heart.

How hypocritcal and self-righteous is this whole circus!!!!
Imus truly comes out looking like Jesus compared to the self-righteous condemnation of his peers.

"He who has commited no sin throw the first stone."

I think that it is ridiculous. This proves that there is no such thing as freedom of speech in America. South Park can get away with saying "N*gger" on cable TV, numerous shows make fun of president Bush no one, fires them. If Dave Chapelle made the same comment, no one would have taken a second look at it. By no way was it acceptable, but to loose his job???? If I 20 white Americans were offended by Dave Chapelle's "white joke" does that mean we should be able to get him fired? Don Imus is a comedian.....and "nappy headed hoes" is a funny phrase just as Dave Chapelle calls whites "crackers"...

"Let he who live without sin cast the first stone..."

Odd you should use that phrase in reverse of how I see it - that was one hell of a stone that Rev. Al Sharpton cast at Imus. I guess Al Sharpton has lived a life free of sin...

I do not deny the ignorance of Imus' statement, but in the context it was used to be considered a SIN? Get real. Which of the Ten Commandments does using the term "nappy headed hos" fall under?

Is the almighty Reverend Sharpton going after the music industry next? The industry that has more influence on youth than Imus? The industry that generates more revenue for NBC and CBS than all of Imus' advertisers combined?

I doubt it. He won't. Because Bow-Wow would put a cap in his ***...

Funny how it all works out.

And Roy, if you think that in any way shape or form that Imus comes out of this looking like "Jesus" or a Martyr, you can thank the almighty Rev. Sharpton for that too for bringing so much heat to the subject that it boiled over. Sharpton should have condemned his actions and dropped it - but because of Sharpton's over reactions Imus may become a Martyr.

Bottom line is that NO ONE wins in this situation, and it doesn't matter what color, sex or religion you are.

Maybe not unpardonable, but it seems unforgettable. Jimmy the Greek Snyder lost his job over racist comments. LA Dodger GM Al Campanis likewise. While I admit Imus the Idiot made a dreadful mistake, and apologized for it, why did Jesse and the Fat Man have to blow it out of all proportion? For their own gains, surely. Look, Imus gave his employer grounds for dismissal, and that was a consequence of what he said. But he was making a joke, however insensitive, and it's not the first time he's made racist comments or had an off-color remark along those lines. I just think the way he's being vilified is enough. Let him go and wither away on his ranch. But stop with all the grandstanding by those 2 idiots and let's move on, shall we?

you want to seek the Bible rather of googling diverse web pages, which will deceive you. The unpardonable sin understanding and understanding God's goodness (salvation) then willingly turn faraway from it and in no way returning. For this there is not any remission of sin. Hebrews 10:18 "Now the position remission of those is, there is not any extra providing for sin." Jesus already paid the price of sin yet in case you turn faraway from it then there is not any longer some thing else left which will avert. It would not sound like you dedicated the unpardonable sin in accordance with what you suggested.

Roy, buddy, you need to get the **** over yourself and learn how to take a joke. In no part of the bible does it say that making a joke, or speaking your mind even, is a sin. KIlling is a sin. Stealing is a sin. Saying what you want to say, however, is the 1st amendment in the United States Constitiution. Imus's comment was in no way a sin, and in addition, what he said was true. They had them some nappy *** heads.

It really would do u some good to lighten up a lil and not take **** so seriously.

P.S.- As you can see, my yahoo name is dave chappelle is a funny man. He consistantly portrays white guys in what appears to be a negative light, that is unless you have a sense of humor. I for one have a sense of humor, so I can laugh at the stuff he says instead of trying to stick a lawsuit on him.

You're pretty self-righteous, yourself, Racial Roy. And I'll bet you wouldn't hesitate to play the race card, either. In fact, you probably have. I am very upset about Imus getting fired. They should have just suspended him. I hope I never have the displeasure of meeting you in person or to work with you.

And now, Racial Roy, like it or not, I am going to go and dig up some dirt on you....

" How do I talk to the devil?
I started taking Hydroxycut a couple of weeks ago. Now I feel that Satan is trying to contact me. Please tell me how to communicate with Satan. "

Fellow members, don't take a substance abuser seriously.

Also, Racial Roy's father bolted on him, so he never had a father figure:
" How can I act like my father when I never met him? "

And maybe you're angry because you aren't getting any:
" Should I stop being quiet now?
Well, after being relatively quiet for 23 years I have discovered that "quiet guys don't get that much action."

Racial Roy sure does have respect for women:
" Are you still sexually attracted to someone who dosen't like you back?
Ya know its like "not being in luv wit Judy but rather luving her booty.
Does the booty lose its' flava when the chick aint diggin you?"

Nor does Racial Roy have a high opinion of Yahoo!Answers.
" The ends simply don't justify the means. Unless your talking about chili recipies, your not gonna get a solid answer to your question. The website is crawling with a$$holes with the intellect of a 3rd grader. This website is a joke at best and the moderation is just the frosting on the cake."

"The devil is real. I see him every day. If you don't see him then more than likely you are him."

This answer is a work in progress. If you don't want any more negative exposure, you might want to close this ridiculous question right now.

I don't think Imus was fired because free speech was denied him, I think he was fired because we all have free speech. You can't use the First Amendment to give him the right to say what he pleases and then deny the rest of us our First Amendment right to protest his words. Ultimately, he was fired because over 100 advertisers backed out of supporting the show. If I was an African-American woman advertising with CBS and heard him make those comments, why should I be pressured to ignore it and continue doing business with him? Free speech doesn't mean you are completely free from consequences, it simply means the government can't throw you in jail for speaking your mind.

Naturally, something like this should not be confused with employees being fired because they talk publically about their company's racist or sexist hiring policies or damage the company's product may be doing to the public at large. Sadly, this type of free speech denial is a problem we have not confronted well in our great nation.

I only wish we had demanded by now that our President and his Veep be fired after some of the inane and irresponsible lies they've told.

There was a debate on CNN among 3 black individuals; 2 men and a woman and one of the men said it best. "imus is being crusified for jay walking."
If we really want to get rid of racism, we have to get rid of the double standard. If its "poetry" when rappers use certain "terms of endearment" then you can't take it to heart when a white person uses the term. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

yeah what he said was bad but its not an unforgivable sin IMO. I am a christian and the only one who can condemn one man is God. He must seek forgiveness IMO. But many will not agree with me because their spiritual views are different if any..but you should not be able to say something on air like that even though many things are said everyday on TV, radio, rappers, politicians etc. BTW why are rappers and Dave Chappelle, Carlos Mencia able to use racial comments against everyone else but the second a white performer like the Kramer guy has some hecklers in a crowd and uses a racial slur all the people are up in arms over it. All a bunch of hypocritical crap to me. Double standards are now the way of life I guess.

The whole thing, including answerer one, makes me sick. It reminds me that the Good Old Boys are still at it, poisoning the world and in this case, especially defaming athletes and scholars who are working very hard in school. Imagine the shame and the hurt the women and their families felt! I do not agree with the Jesus remark. I feel that we are all just sick of this kind of bigotry and want to press on to a happier and more accepting society. We are all in this together and need each other so wise up people!!
