I live in Minnesota and have lived in Germany, black ice ...yes, yellow snow...don't eat, the only place I could picture black snow is Pennsylvania or West Virginia near the coal mines.

Is it mythological? If so, no. But if you are talking about real life, yes, I've seen black snow. Auto exhaust makes the snow by the sides of the road grey and even black.
And in the spring, farmers spread charcoal dust on the snow fields to melt the snow early.

I wouldn't suggest eating black snow...OR YELLOW snow. My dog has a way of making snow turn different colors.
