hmm skating rings around the sharks? did you watch the same game i watched, cause the sharks werent even playing physical and had your preds looking like scared little prairie dogs, only player you had that was skating was radulov. and as for the "depth" you guys have, the sharks have 4 lines that can play, im not even gonna mention the top 2 lines, we got grier, brown, rissmiller, pavelski, berneir, Goc(who would be a number two center on any other team, clowe, and the list goes on, who guys dont have the depth we have on any position do some reading before you open you mouth and try to spew out worhtless facts buddy, haha cant believe you said you guys hve more depth and are faster. we are the biggest team in the NHL and one of the fastest, go read up on it and then come back with a sensible answer, all you had to say was radulov played good and thats that...your too funny man, you guys are gonna like pavelski

I read something earlier where Marleau said the best revenge against the preds would to be shake their hands after they beat them in the series. That sounds good to me. Nothing sweeter than them sitting on the couch and watching the sharks go after the cup......You can knock the sharks down but they will come back fighting.....Ive read all the preds comments and they are so flimsy.....They know that they hurt Cheechoo on purpose.....Who are they really trying to convince? Most people agree it was a dirty hit......I hope the sharks give them hell tonight..

The death of Strelow looked like it really shook up but also motivated Nabokov to play well in Game #1, and should continue to give him motivation throughout the playoffs. As for the injury to Cheechoo, it did look like it fired up the team to win it for him, especially in the overtime. As long as he is out of the lineup, the Sharks will be playing with the attitude to win it for him, which is going to create some very entertaining hockey. No fans of any team should be thinking "we've got the Stanley Cup now," since this is only Round #1 and teams have only played one game thus far in the playoffs. No team has earned the right for it's fans to say "We've got it locked up, it's ours now" because it has only been one game for each series in the playoffs. However, because the Sharks will be playing motivated hockey for the rest of this series, they should advance to Round #2 with their players in that mindset.

The Predators were skating rings around the Sharks for most of the game. The Sharks were clearly top heavy on talent and didn't have nearly the depth of talent that the Predators had (Forsberg and Radulov on the 3rd line is SERIOUS depth), it showed as the game went on and the Pred's multiple line assault wore out the Sharks top two lines who were double shifting to try to keep up. Losing Cheechoo only further weakens the Sharks depth and completely eliminates any advantage they may have had on the top line power as Thornton setting up Grier is nowhere near as dangerous as Cheechoo over the long haul. The Sharks basically survived game 1 but I can't see them winning much after that without some serious help. Without Cheechoo, even the lopsided officiating that granted them powerplays for running Vokoun all night???? can't help them.

I think they had the talent before and they were on a hot streak going into the playoffs, always a good sign. But now I really think they want it more then ever.

There's no status yet on Cheech but that's a good thing. A delay in prognosis usually means they can't see what's wrong right away so he might be able to return even during this series. He'll probably miss a few games just to be safe. Knowing Cheech he'd use the pain to get even better, to make him mad and go after the puck even more.

Go Sharks!!!!

If the Sharks win, and they have as good a chance as anyone, it will NOT be because of Cheechoo's injury or because of Strelow dying. If they need that to spark them, then they probably are not good enough. Every team is going to play their very best. Nothing is necessary to motivate them. It is ultimately just a matter of execution, injuries, and luck.

Sharks are going to do a lot beter because we accually got good pk'ers and got a better defence and a better offence with rookies and has a starting goaltender that was loosing in the begining and getting pulled and now the starting goalie of the playoffs

Well, the best revenge the Sharks will dish out will be a 4 game sweep and ending the series on home ice.

I think if the sharks win the ***, don't want to say it....Nabby and Toskala will partly dedicate the *** to Strelow. Maybe bring the *** to his grave.

Well strelows death can give them motivation, but i dunno if cheechoos injury will. Usually when a team is injured it doesnt really help.
