"In your head", Hypothetical is the same as saying; "Just imagine...."

A hypothetical question would be: "If I was as fat as that woman, would you still love me?"
or a hypothetical statement:
"A meteor, the size of a Volkswagen Beetle will wipe out the United States."

It can be two things, I think.

It can be:
1. Something we imagined it to be (hypothetically speaking...)
2. Our expected outcome or result of an experiment or research, which we made based on theories or other knowledge
