What is this obsession you have with unity?! Every time I'm on yahoo you ask an inscrutable question about unity. How can anyone be that interested in unity? What does it even mean?!

All states of unity coexist. Unity implies coexistence, oneness, harmony, does it not?

It is not impossible; the contingent condition is the answer to the definition question for the word 'state'. A unity is an identity for a thing, a thing is something for which we have facts. 'Unity' its self could be said to be a contingent condition or quality for a thing and could be quantifiable, differentiating or fluctuating, its self contingent. The uncertainty is the question 'is it possible to measure more than one state for a thing if both states are differentiating or changing at the same time'. If they are contingent on or for each other, that could be impossible.

They often do, in certain philosophies, such as monisms like Taoism. But, just as often, particularly in the West, two sides a dualed, such as good and evil, and their conflict creates existence and progress, from which believers in these feed. In the East, however, they prefer philosophies of the unity of the duality of existence, a unity of the two sides of life which creates balance enough to sustain itself.
