Rest! If it's your first baby, rest as often and for as long as you can: this is your last chance for the next twenty years! If you have other kids, try to rest - you have my schoolholidays withtwokidsandbaby sympathy!

Cold remedies never work anyway! Paracetamol is about the only thing you will be able to take for the next 32 weeks (well and then you might be breastfeeding and it goes on and on from there!). All those natural suggestions like hot lemon and honey, orange juice, lots and lots and lots of water are probably your best bet.

It depends on the symptoms, but I have my Over the Counter Medicine list here from when I was prego last year and this is what it says:
Cough- Dimetapp, Pertussin, Robitussin, or Robitussin DM are good. Any cough crops are good. Prolonged use of cough syrups are to be avoided.
Sore Throat- Sucrets, Cepastat, or Chloraseptic is OK. Vitamin C in large doses is dangerous and not advised.
Fever - Tylenol and increased fluids

You can only take Sudafed after 13 weeks of pregnancy, no aspirin, Ibuprofen, aleve, advil, or motrin. Tylenol only.

A cold is a virus, and will not be cured by taking over the counter or even prescription meds.
You should avoid all over the counter cold and flu remedies, take it easy for a few days, feed yourself with lots of nutritious stuff (they say chicken soup is good!) and get plenty of rest.
Avoid aspirin or paracetamol or anything else - they won't affect the cold virus, and it's better to avoid any meds this early in pregnancy.
Go along to your doctor and see if they think you need anything.
Best of luck!

You can take some paracetamol every four hours, i found the soluble ones worked quicker, there are a few cough bottles u can take too, but ask you pharmacist because you need to be careful in your 1st 12weeks as im sure you know, most things will say on the box if it i safe in pregnancy. Good luck & i hope you feel better sweetie

Don't take any cold meds without doctors approval. Vicks is probably fine and a nice warm bath.

You shouldn't need to take anything for a cold. Keep your fluid intake up, get vit c from oranges etc and rest up. If you run a fever or are in pain then paracetomel is ok when you are pregnant in most cases but phone your doctors office just to check.
