It is totally normal and has nothing to do with age. A few guys stay hard, but it is much more common for a guy to go soft after ejaculating..

It is very common. Age does not really play into it too much. The thing that age affects the the amount of time that the next erection comes. Seems like the older I get, the longer it takes to get up again.

It's a hang over from ancient times.... nature's way of letting your captured cave dwelling female time to escape. It is a very common trait accompanied by lethargy and sleepiness.
The difficult challenge is to stay erect for round two, which is more difficult with the onset of middle age, and an unreachable dream for the majority of men at any age.

Erection in penis is because of rich blood supply which it gets when the men are excited. Excitement subside just after ejaculation and penis returns in pre-excitement state.
Some drugs like Viagra increased blood supply to all body organs including penis and therefore penis gets erected even without getting excited. Under the influence of Viagra penis may not become soft after ejaculation.
Let me remind you Viagra without medical supervision is harmful

This is common because just like every activities we do, we get tired. But some males also experience multiple orgasm where they can experience a time that their penis becomes rigid even after climax.

Very normal, the penis usually gets hypersensitive, too.
It's nature's way of telling us to give it a rest and prevent us from doing it nonstop!

yes its very normal , it goes away after so that there can be a resting period and also that it doesnt need to be erect all the time lol
