yes has she tried tums? or the tums soft chew (i atually think that is different heartburn med) the soft chew worked really well, so did the tums until i started getting nausea from them. the soft chews are so easy, it feels like your chewing on a piece of soft taffy, its very convient since the roll fits in a purse or pocket, verces the pepto you need water or spoon to take it, and that taste gross too.

I have my Over the Counter Medications list in front of me from when I was pregnant last year and this is what it says in reference to heart burn:
"Antacid tablets or liquids such as Tums, Rolaids are OK. Zantac is Ok to use short term --discuss with your physician. do NOT use Pepto-Bismal."
I went to Costco and bought thier large bottle of Kirkland Brand tums and lived on them when I was pregnant. I ate them like candy. They worked on heartburn, upset tummy, etc. etc. I went through one and a half bottles with no problems.
Good LucK!

I would talk to the dr and make sure! I mostly ate Tums or Rolaids, like candy. They also have calcium. When it got too bad, my dr gave me a RX for Prevacid. I took it almost all the way through 3 pregnancies with no problems. Ask the dr. what would be best for your wife! Good luck to you both!

She needs to discuss that with her OB first. I took Tums when I was pregnant. They have some that aren't chalky, it is kind of chewy like bubblegum. They actually taste good. I ate them like candy, and they have calcium too. I believe you can go to the Tums website and get a free sample, you may even be able to go to walmart.com also and get a free sample. They aren't very expensive though.

It's best to ask the doctor, I used to get that all the time. It was hell but i never took anything, mostly drink lots of fluids, like milk and water. The milk will coat the stomach and the water will make her digest the food she has eaten faster. I hope she feels better. I know all about that, also pin point the foods causing this, for me it was pizza or anything acidy. Best of luck!
