Alien --- Once again, my vote is for the original, even though it was just a remake of other monster movies. For a refresher course on its most important points, I suggest:

I hate all of them, but Alien Resurrection is the most tolerable. I also hate all the Matrix films, too.

in my opinion, the first 2 are the strongest in advancing the story... But really, I enjoy all of them and have yet to befriend someone who hasn't enjoyed at least one in the quadrilogy.
