Not even close to what's it's name . Imus was fired by CBS to cover up the firing of the producer for Katie Couric who plagiarized Jeff Zaslow's Wall Street Journal article - and as a test case to get rid of the opposition for Hillary Clinton's campaign - because she hasn't got a prayer once the rest of the nation learns of all her dirty laundry & baggage . Believe it or not - not everyone realizes that Hillary was the bigger villian in the Clinton White House ..YET .

Are you kidding me? Howard Stern, if that's who you're referring to, would never make a slip like Imus the Idiot. He's got Robin sitting 5 feet away, and wouldn't insult her. They do racist bits but I doubt they all feel that way since they discuss the bits quite a lot. Howard is one of the most honest guys out there and if you don't like him, don't buy Sirius. But Imus is by far worse.

Imus didn't get screwed. I don't think he was fired because free speech was denied him, I think he was fired because we all have free speech. You can't use the First Amendment to give him the right to say what he pleases and then deny the rest of us our First Amendment right to protest his words. Ultimately, he was fired because over 100 advertisers backed out of supporting the show. If I was an African-American woman advertising with CBS and heard him make those comments, why should I be pressured to ignore it and continue doing business with him? Free speech doesn't mean you are completely free from consequences, it simply means the government can't throw you in jail for speaking your mind.

Naturally, something like this should not be confused with employees being fired because they talk publically about their company's racist or sexist hiring policies or damage the company's product may be doing to the public at large. Sadly, this type of free speech denial is a problem we have not confronted well in our great nation.

I only wish we had demanded by now that our President and his Veep be fired after some of the inane and irresponsible lies they've told.

it really is a strong question. Plus everybody is asserting what Imus said became racist. no longer something he said became racist. became it degrading and an undesirable element to assert? sure for sure IT became. yet that total crew isn't black. There are white gamers also. everybody is ignoring the white gamers on the crew. Nappy hair isn't racist and hoe (or is it ho?) isn't racist. It became only a propose and stupid element to assert. i ask your self what type of lyrics those females are listening by way of their headphones? i'm effective its alot better degrading than what Imus said.

Imus is held up nationally as a political spokesperson. He often has political guests on his program and frequently has political discussions. He represents a white majority population that in the not too distant past, horribly repressed the Black population. To allow a man like Imus to promote racism on such a forum is to allow the potential for the abject racism and repression of our past to begin to creep back into our society.

Racism is a right-wing attribute (which is quite obvious on this forum) and Imus speaks to that audience. He knew his audience would appreciate those comments and he was more than willing to cater to their racist whims. A decent society must put a man like Imus and his right-wing Archie Bunker followers in their place.
