I recently purchased a Louis Vuitton Multicolor Speedy 30 from a friend of a friend. The handbag appears to be 100% authentic from what I have researched. However, I was wondering about the date stamp/code? I spoke to the Louis Vuitton store in St Louis and they told me that this was not a way to authenticate a beg. I was wanting to know if anyone knows if a date stamp beginning with PM is a legit code? This is absolutely the only question I have about this bag.

There is not a Louis Vuitton store even remotely close to where I live. I do know of another person whom purchased a handbag in Hawaii with the same two letters. Just wanted to see if anyone else was familiar with this code.

I believe that the letters correspond to the factory in which the bag was made, and I don't think "PM" is one of them.
FRANCE: AO, A1, A2, AN, AR, AS, BA, BJ, CT, DU, FL, LW, MB, MI, NO, RA, RI, SD (also USA), SL, SN, SP, SR, TH, VI
USA: FH, OS, SD (also France)
SPAIN: CA, LO, LB, LM
The date code alone would not verify the bags authenticity. Check for all 33 colors on the purse, replicas often have seven or eight colors. Perhaps you should take it to the store to verify.

Hi, I own an authentic Louis Vuitton Multicolore 30. The date stamp on my handbag is SP0033. The Speedy should also have the number 30 stamped under the small flap on the right side.
Are you sure that the purse your friend sold you is an authentic piece? Is it raspberry on the inside? Are the handles turning into a honey color?
In order to purchase this bag, I had to be in a waiting list of almost 1 year before they came out!
If I were you, I would consult www.mypoupette.com, they can authenticate your purse for a small amount of money.
If you want, send me a few pictures and I might be able to tell if it is authentic. (kallisti3@yahoo.com)

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if a bag is authentic by it's date stamp/code. There are sites like www.exquisitebag.com, or http://www.exquisitebag.com, that are mirror image replicas - which means they can replicate them down to the weight of the thread used! They even come with the dustcovers, authenticity cards, care booklets, receipts, and shopping bags. So there is no way to know for sure anymore unless you buy it from the store yourself, or from www.eluxury.com. Hopefully, your bag is authentic. You could always try googling "my poupette". They will ask you for pictures of your bag, and then review them and even send you a letter that they have certified it as authentic, if it proves to be so.

I do not know that to be authentic. Here is a link to a guide that goes into more depth than I can here. Search for more guides to help you further authenticate, if this does not help:

They have an extensive list of these codes other info in detecting counterfeit. Another good LV authentication site is:

Hope this helps!

I actually have discovered this web site and then bought one there. Not extremely awesome upon their shipping speed but does save money about 68% and great to have this. The quality is definitely fine and right until now never spot any problems.
