1) Apply eye liner tight against upper lash line. Dark brown or black is most basic. Dark navy is good if you have blue eyes.
2) Curl lashes. Apply black mascara if you have dark hair or dark brown/black if you have light hair.
3) Apply blush to apples of checks. Gel blush like Tarte's Cheek Stain is almost fool proof. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P38468&categoryId=C12001
4) Apply "your lips but better" lip color. e.g. Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (universal) or Almost Red (cool tones), Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Cherries in the Glow
5) Note: apply concealer only if & where needed. Cargo makes a foundation/concealer called OneBase. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P55200&categoryId=C11630

I like to use the golds and browns for this reason. Subtle and natural. I rarely wear makeup as it is, so when I do put it on I don't want to spend a long time. Most of the time I spend 10-15 minutes on it. The most involved part being mascara.
For the cheeks and sometimes as an eyeshadow I use a bronzer. (I often use a gold eyeshadow for highlights as well). Bronzers are used to make your skin look more tanned, but well placed as a blush or eye shadow it offers a subtle darker brown that's just enough but not too much. I like dark brown mascara since it's more subtle (I prefer the type with the curved brush). I use a nutragena foundation creme- well matched to your skin tone and it won't look fake or shiny.
The lipstick depends on your skin color- I prefer natural pinks (I have fairly dark pink lips anyway- so it's usually just something to give them a little sheen). If I use a lip liner it's a darker pink (like mauve) color, but subtle. I don't want to look cartoony.
I don't use eye liner mainly because I hate it. If you want to use a dark brown to match the mascara and a thin line.
They sell powders, can't think the exact term but they're usually in a taller container with a little powder puff inside, that is soley meant for taking away any shininess. It's supposed to be translucent or having little or no color to it, but if you're darker complected they might make something more appropriate for that. (I'm fair skinned so that all works fine for me).
Hope that helps.

You can use lots of tans and browns to blend with your skin color. You can just go with a little lip gloss and you would look good. Some lip glosses are tinted so you can see a little color. Maybe you could use brown mascara and curl your eyelashes. You can use some fake tanning products. The color are real earth toned.

Natural look....
Well then try using just some mascara. Some brown eye shadow close to your skin shade with a lil sparkle in it and some sheer lip gloss. This should only take about 5 min. ,and you should look great!!! :)

use concealer to cover any blemishes, then use either maybeline pure or just a powder as a base. Then apply mascara. Apply an apricot or a dull rose colour to sheek bones (don't over do it!), then finish with a simple lip balm.

natural colours are usually tan, peach and caramel tones.
a bit of peach coloured lipgloss would probably be alright and a light peach or neutral eyeshadow would also look ok,with this. forget about eyeliner or mascara though to heavy.

i love the natural look. i dunno if you can but when i go natural i wear no foundation or powder at all. but you may choose to a little powder if you have a naturally shiney face. i just barely put on a little mascara, i just hold the brush still and blink my eyes for the top lid and for the bottoms i just lightly brush them. i put a little bit of vaseline on my lips to keep them shiney but still natural looking.
