You contacted the store and not your insurance company? Oh, well...

Often stores have a waiver of liability sign posted somewhere on the premesis stating something to the effect of "Not responsible for lost or stolen items" Either way, it is private property and when you go on it and park your car you do assume some degree of risk.

That being said, talk to your insurance agent and see who they say you can contact. It may be something that you have to shell out on your own. (As an example, I had a hit and run on Target's property and I have to pay for the repairs! it's lousy but it's also no fault of Target's).

Once the insurance gets involved the store may or may not be more willing to help. If not the store try their headquarters. Because it is not any negligence on Woolworth's part (unless you can prove something they failed to do lead to your car being damaged) and because they usually have something waiving personal property damage liability, I don't think there will be much help but it won't hurt to try. Worst of they say no and you put a claim through using your own insurance.

I'm not certain if that's collision or comprehensive- I'd think the latter because its more environmental but hard to say. Talk to the insurance company. They'll know best.

Good luck.

Trish

They should let you have a shopping spree for a half hour to compensate you.
