As far as I know, freedom of speech is alive and well in America as long as I put a f ucking space between the letters in a word that Y!A will censor. For example, if I want to refer to a rooster as a c ock, I have to put a space between the letters. If I want to refer to a burro as an a ss, I have to put a space there. I don't complain, things can always be worse. Just try to post something on the Al Jazeera website and use the word "Allah" -- you are so censored from the git-go. This is probably too much information for you, but you should appreciate that language is a tricky thing in the hands of idiots and censorship is a way of limiting the impact of the power of words on the feeble minded.
I like the fact that you are able to use the word "realm" -- nice little word which I'm glad has not yet been censored -- but when you venture into the "realm" of "derogatory" you are on a slippery slope. One person's derogatory is another person's compliment. Isn't life strange?

That is not a matter of Free Speech, it is a requirement that the network puts on its on-air personalities so that veiwers and listeners are not offended by objectionable language. The network wants to appeal to as many people as possible so advertisers by air time.
On-air personalities act as spokesmen for the network. The network has every right to censor what its spokesmen say. It is usually part of the contract for employment.
The FCC has its own rules as well. There are lots of words you can't say on the radio until 2 AM, if then.

Ahh, when did the federal right of Freedom of Speech,
Give anyone the right to say whatever they want to on a Network they do not own?
Imus has the right to say whatever he wants to, he just doesn't have a right to say it CBS or MSNBC while being paid by them.
You wouldn't think Freedom of Speech would cover any employee caught telling company customers that they are all " nappy headed ho's ".
That wouldn't be allowed at McDonald's, IBM or a local car dealership, so why would you think it would be allowed on TV or Radio ?

With as touchy as everyone seems these days, I wouldn't be surprised if your question gets removed...or I get reported.
The world has become so pussified.

No, there has always been a double standard.
If a black person had said it, this would not nearly be as big of a deal.
