Each Koi do not need 100 gallons each to grow big and healthy. Koi can live for more than 70 years and grow to over 32". Depending on the lineage and type of Koi you have, he can get quite large.

Remember to supplement your koi with green veggies like lettuce, peas, spinach etc. As well as ensuring he has a high protein low fat vit. enriched food.

I have two Koi I received as a birthday gift 4 years ago that started out around 4 inches and they are now both over 27".

Believe me they will grow!

If he's given room (they should be allowed 100 gallons each as adults), food, and good water quality, koi can get over 30 inches long. So I guess that's a "Yes".
