Contact the local news stations, newspapers, radio stations. Ask them if they would be interesting in promoting your cause. Tell them that you would be glad to fax (if you have access), mail, or drop off some information about the event for them to look over before making a decision. Also, offer to stop by in person and discuss it one on one-makes ure you have a "portfolio" explaining the cause, the purpose, your goal/mission, and how you will achieve your goal, etc!
It will show organization and seriousness and professionalism. Once you have dropped off the information, try to call or stop by the next day to see what they think.
I would also get flyers made and soeak to local principals about having them sent home with students. Put the flyers on vehicles in the grocery store parking lots, and at various locations in your area.
You could also check with your local bank. Our bank will distribute flyers with their reciepts and such at their drivethru windows. They only distribute for worthy causes, not just random stuff! But my bank is locally owned and operated and not part of a chain, so I don't know if that will make a difference!
Make sure you visit businesses and get them involved and backing your cause, they can really help spread the word! Some businesses will even hand out flyers or stick one in the customers bag before you leave the store!
You could also hold a car wash with signs and stuff saying that the benefits go to your cause, then hand flyers to all of your "customers that come through" and make sure you tell them you would really appreciate their support through attending your event!
Good luck, but remember, if you don't portray organized professionalism, then no one will trust your cause. It will seem like a scam!
Hint: you could ask anyone attending the show to bring an item for the troops as part of their entry fee! Make sure you take tons of pictures and maybe even video it, then make sure you send copies of it with your care package! Troops love seeing things from home and from people who support them almost more than they love the care packages!

It's great that you're doing this. However, what appeals to the public are the actions of an "organization." are you doing this with several friends? For example, a high school club like "key club" will donate to a cause and people know that it is reliable- the club's purpose is to donate.

distribute flyers. At the bottom of the flier, cite an existing source that you will be donating to so that the public is aware that you have done your research.
for example: http://booksforsoldiers.com/

make the flyers appealing.

Have an adult or authority figure (like your parents or a supporting teacher of your cause) support and look over your event. This way they know that there is a supervisor involved. Adults easily trust responsible adults.

i hope i helped and good luck with your fundraiser! you're doing a great thing.

I took a touch speedy look and from what i ought to make certain i do no longer think of the photograph is more advantageous. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I do have a sneaking suspicion she could have had 'some' artwork executed. I say that for one reason purely. except she's wearing one heck of a push up, her breasts are somewhat too 'perky' for the load. Her physique shape is fantastic for her, and albeit i does no longer blame her for paying for some greater effective help. Her top could make that weight on her chest much harder to hold than say a 6 foot woman. a great finding woman and that i could desire to spend it sluggish exploring..um.. her means. Even at 5'5". ;)

Contact the local television stations, such as your local FOX station, as well as, other local morning programs.

You will need proof that the fundraiser is legitimate, such as, any non-profit status you have for the fundraiser.

Pictures, official letters, eventually you get a good history record and it'll be okay. Be professional about advertising etc. Get some good sponsors
