can you run a V6 with one turbo on one side of the engine, or does it have to use exhaust from both sides of the engine. i thought that with a V engine you had to have two turbos or bring the exhaust together, then add a single.

No you can run it with just one. They do it all the time. Think about the turbo diesel trucks. most of them are V8 and they only have a single turbo.

Grand National Buick's put on a really good show with one turbo. With two it just plain get ridiculous A big cloud of tire smoke and there gone.Sometimes with the front wheels way up there.

Most only have one turbo, the use of twin turbo's is mainly to reduce the turbo lag due to the time it takes to spool up the turbine. One trubo is smaller and will take less time to get up to speed.
