I'm graduating from college with honors and distinction in 2 years' time. My major is Business Administration, Marketing Concentration. I'm painfuly shy, and I prefer working alone in my office or cubicle and not dealing with customers, and also not spend a lot of time on the phone. I'm intelligent, but I need to make some big bucks to pay off this 70K debt. What should I do?

You should see if there is a internship program at your college for your field. Try to see a therapist to help you out with your shyness, it will help out a lot because having a major in Business Admin. and with marketing concentration... and you dont know how to work well with people is not a good mix.

*I agree with the above poster market anaylsist is good area as well*

Better dust off those team skills - because even if you don't have to deal with customers, you will be expected to be part of a team at work. And teleconferences / meetmelines are the way of doing business - no one can afford to fly you around to meet others.

Your job should be to get those life skills down pat so that you will be able to be successful in 2 years. Try Dale Carnagie or Toastmasters.

Hate to tell you, but unless you become proficient in dealing with customers, or working with other people, you aren't going anywhere. If graduating from college doesn't boost your self confidence, then you wasted 4 years.

I hate to be crude, but you need to learn to deal with it.
