i have a dell inspiron 2650 and last night while i was typing my keyboard just got stuck..
i pressed shift then d and from then on i have to use the on-screen keyboard...
help..??

Try the Flag keys. There should be one on each side of your spacebar.
Press the one on the right 5 times and see if that does it. If not, do the same with the left one.

Go to Start,
then Control Panel,
then Accessibility,
then Settings (be very careful what you do here if you change anything).

Try running your fingers along each key. If that doesn't help, try powering down the notebook and connect up a PS/2 Keyboard. Then turn on the notebook to let it boot into Windows. Hopefully at that point, you can log out of Windows, power down the notebook, disconnect the keyboard and then turn on the notebook to see if whether or not the keys are stuck. If that doesn't help, you might have to get the notebook serviced. Perhaps it is still under warranty. Good Luck!

Did you accidentally turn on stick keys?

Go to Start
Settings
Control Panel
Accessibility

In Accessibility, look for stickey keys. If there is a checkmark in the box preceding it, click it to remove.
