1918-1939 are the years in between the two wars. That would have been 21 years.

It all depends on how you look at it:

At the end of WWI, the US refused to work with the German Kaiser for peace. So:

-November 3, 1918 German Naval Forces create mutiny
-November 9, 1918 Kaiser steps down and is replaced by a republic.
- November 11, 1918 Armistice Day, end of fighting

So the fighting stopped in 1918, but the Treaty of Versaille wasnt signed until 1919....

On to World War II...The beginning of WWII is usually looked at as around September 1939 because thats when the Europeans began fighting. However Japan began invading Mongolia as early as 1931, and fighting between China, Japan, and Russia picks up in 1937.

So for most purposes there was 22 (1918 - 1939) or 21 (1919 - 1939) years between the two wars, but it can arguably be more than that... After all History is always biased to the people telling it (ie. europeans/ westerners)

World War I ended on Novemeber 11, 1918. World War II started on September 1, 1939 in Europe and December 7/8,(depending on what side of the International Date Line the location was) 1941 in the Pacific- although Japan had been fighting in China since 1937. Germany declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941. However, the U.S. had been increasingly indirectly involved in the war for the previous year or so. So, basically the best answer would be just short of 21 years for Europe and a little more than 23 years for the Pacific.

WWI ended in 1918 and WWII started in 1939. So the difference is 21 years. It was in these 21 years that Hitler did not obey any term of the treaty of versailes.

Two answers to this. One is that 1918- 1939 = 21 years, or that they were the same war with a truce in between, therefore 0.

I don't really know what you're talking about to be honest. Sure, older people who were involved in it still talk about it but younger people and teenagers especially wouldn't be able to tell you the dates of the two wars and some might not even be able to tell you who did what. It's not something that's taught in schools (ie. i spent terms learning about JFK's murder but not a single minute on either war). London and the South-East was very badly damaged in the war. Maybe do a little research on that instead of surmising it based on the fact that London has 'a terrible traffic problem'. I don't recall seeing that many war films and if i did my reaction would be to switch it over to the Simpsons. I don't know any people who dislike the Germans or even joke about them. The only point I will agree with you on is that the politicians of the USA and UK don't appear to have learnt their lesson but it's the politicians here in the UK who are conducting current wars. Most of the public is anti-war.
