Have to have the old country to really enjoy the new country. I like Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Dwight Yochum, TRACY LAWRENCE! John Anderson, AND Don Anderson. John Conley, CONWAY TWITTY, ALABAMA,
Jimmy Buffet, Craig Morgan - "Almost Home". Don Williams.

Funny ones - Bobby Bare - "The Winner" (great song)

Rodney Atkins, Daryl Worley, Buckey Covington, Leeanne Rimes, Jo Dee Messina, Sara Buxton, Roseanne Cash,

Wave on Wave - Gary Allen, Paint Me a Birmingham, He Drinks Tequila- L. Morgan, S. Kershaw, oh heck I love most of em.

Don't know if you like tha new country or the old country. I like Johnny Rodriguez, Charley Pride,Merle Haggard, Lorretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash - these artists would probably be considered old school. But they are still great.
As far as the new county artists, I love Alan Jackson, George Strait, Dixie Chicks, &The Mavericks to name a few. You need to expand your horizons and listen to the old as well as the new artists. The old is where country music came from.

Try My Morning Jacket.
Some stuff from Bright Eyes is country-ish. Especially the albums "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" and the new album "Cassadaga". (I HIGHLY RECCOMEND downloading the song "Four Winds" by bright eyes. very country and one of my favorites)
Also Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins have some country feeling.
and some stuff by Rilo Kiley.
