Worst state in the US?

What does everyone think are the worst states in the US? My list would be:
1. Michigan
2. Maryland
3. Ohio
4. Delaware

Michigan - The most boring, Detroit is nasty.
Maryland - Except for Annapolis and Ocean City, it is a total dump, and the people have the rudest attitudes although they have no reason to be.
Ohio - Besides Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Ohio State the most drab and smelly landscape anywhere.
Delaware - Besides Rehoboth Beach, just a continuation of strange random people, and boring scenery.

I would say that the State of Michigan is the worst state currently in the United States. It has a very weak economy, the City of Detroit is bringing down the states economy, Michigan is ranked towards very last as the state where people want to relocate to and is one of the top states for foreclosures and every state in the United States of America is gaining jobs except for Michigan and if there is a job availabe, it fills up very quickly.

Northern Transplant to the South Answering the following: 5. Michigan -- Detroit is a pit. And the full state is spiraling into the tank. 4. West Virginia -- Hillbillies everywhere you look 3. Mississippi -- a lot of poverty 2. Louisiana -- Corrupt previous all human concept. a million. New Jersey -- Corruption. And that section between massive apple and Newark is the most obscene panorama on earth.

1. New York: bad traffic. I thought that people drove crazy in Chicago. I was absolutely wrong! It is crazier there. I had visited different neighborhoods. What's up with those very old buildings and rails? Anyways....
2. Virginia: BOOORING!
3. Georgia: Dirty/filty water (It was brownish-yellowish color). It had a smell to it too. ugh! It was disgusting. Supposedly, I was in a "very good" hotel (5 stars). Hell NO! I did not have water to bathe or else. The rooms smells too (cigarettes). At first sight, it looked clean but it wasn't. Some people were kinda cold too.
4. Chicago: CPS sucks!!! Lot of traffic though there is 24hr 7 days a week transportation. Crazy weather....dirty beach and river... though it has a very good water system. Extremely high rent, bills, and taxes.

I would phrase this a bit differently.

States I am least attracted to:

1. California
2. Nevada
3. Minnesota
4. Nebraska
5. Wisconsin

I would never classify any state as the worst, since there are people who like each state for their own reasons. All the ones you cite have their strong and weak points, as do the ones I cite.

My list has at least as much to do with me as it does to the five states I listed.

It depends, for living in I wouldn't want to live anywhere north of the Ohio River and east of the Mississippi River, the Dakotas, Nebraska or California. For visiting, I don't have a big desire to back to Iowa or to visit North Dakota for the first time, New Jersey didn't show me much either.
