"Poverty isn't solved with donations." Carlos Slim I saw this on the yahoo news thing and it is the most true statement ive heard al week. Do you agree with it?

Yes, people in poverty need a chance (the donation) to get somewhere. But when everything is provided for them then they become complacent. Take your pet for example in the wild they are resourceful, but at home they cannot do anything unless you do it for them.

Its like that quote: "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, but teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." people in poverty have to be taugh differently than the cycle that they have been born into or got themselves into.

Donations certainly don't solve the entire problem.
