I have a few weeks to take off - and I haven't been too many places. What suggestions do you guys have for a road trip that has breath taking scenery.

Doesn't matter where I am....where would you go (in the US)?

Do a drive that includes:

I-70 west of Denver, to I-15 down the Virgin River Canyon in Arizona, back through Las Vegas down the Colorado River, then back towards Kingman, Arizona and on to the Grand Canyon.

Maximum Interstate driving, plenty to see, and you get Denver and Vegas.

There are beautiful places in a lot of states; but you want
a state that will take days to experience. My favorite places I've been are Lone Pine, California, with the Sierras all around you where you're not that far from Yosemite National Park either. Another scenic area is Northern Arizona and Colorado, or the run from the Grand Canyon through the mesa country of New Mexico. Then there's Utah and Colorado, desolate canyons and rock formations.
The far Northwest has wonderful pine forests, and new York has lakes, and Niagara Falls up north.
Maine has woods and a beautiful coastline; Oregon has the best coast of all.
North Carolina has pinewoods and South Carolina has a nice coast. But Montana is the most beautiful state of all, Port Townsend, Washington has the best light and the Northeast has the brightest autumn colors.
Depends what you prefer.
I'm a desert lover; so I'd do the northern Arizona route before it gets too hot--the petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Oak Creek Canyon with its pines, the lakes, the Grand Canyon, White Sands, New Mexico and the mesa country.

The Grand Canyon in Arizona at sunset. Arizona is known for it's beautiful sunsets, but the Grand Canyon has the most gorgeous sunset ever! The sky is a mixture of pinks, reds, orange, blues and purples. It is breath taking and something you can see once and remember for a lifetime!

East Coast or Upper Midwests State in America...if you're smart, just cross the border and go into Canada...that is where the best scenery is!!:)
