Perhaps in some small way they are.

I'm not and I smoke. I just can't stop.....I have and started again...It's not that easy to quit. Everytime I try, something else goes wrong and I start again.
I can tell ya I know it's bad for me, and I'd never join in one of the law suits against a cigarette company....we know the risks and smoke em anyway...it's our own faults if something happens to us. No one else's.
And for the one comment, I don't smoke around people who don't smoke. I do have respect for non-smokers. I never smoke around any kids either.

Not all of them, no. But I will say that some of them may be. Its just that there is nicotine in cigarettes that makes people addicted to them and continually smoke them even when they try to quit.
Hope this helped you some!

as a smoker who has tried to quit well over a hundred times, spent over $600 on nicotine patches, I gotta wonder. ps I quit drinking 30 yrs ago last Jan - thanks to some relatives who did an intervention and then AA. I totally agree what the woman above sasid about family, I have smoked only outside for over 20 yrs. I also think smokers rights is total BS, can you walk into a restaurant and put a pile of leaves on yer plate and set them on fire? I'd vote to ban cigs.

I suppose you could look at it that way; then again, a lot of people have died much younger than me never having touched a cigarette. And my closest brush with death came from being hit by a car, so one might say it's suicidal going out your own front door.

I have honestly decided that no we are not suicidal, we are just bored, and I have the choice to smoke or pull my hair out which way would I look better bald, or hiding in the bathroom to smoke..
And oh yeah, my church says God takes us when he wants us, it dont say we die cause we smoke..

Both my grandfathers smoked all their lives and lived to be in their late 80's. They never got cancer or emphysema. My grandmothers lived even longer and didn't suffer from second-hand smoke. They lived from the 1800's through two world wars, they weren't suicidal. Don't believe everything the anti-smoking Nazis say.

No, we're just addicted to them, and quite the opposite of your question - sometimes the best cigarette is in celebration after something really good!!!

They are just addicted, the cigarette manufacturers fooled us by saying they aren't addictive.

Pretty much yes. The could also be considered murderers for smoking around their family.
