I think its still alive in the sense that we'll always have the classics. But Will rock ever be good again?

I though there was gonna be a come back when Velvet Revolver formed. Guess my hopes were crushed
And I was making an allusion to the Who song.

I wish the classics would come back, but with all this emo shitt these days, I don't think good rock music will come back anytime soon.

John Mellencamp has been quoted that he thinks rock is dead.
I think John needs to take a listen to Three Days Grace, System Of A Down and Breaking Benjamin. They have the 21st century torch to take from John, and Aerosmith, and the Rolling Stones, and U2.

No deader than jazz, blues or classical. Tthere's lot's of good rock and rock musicians out there, old and new. You just have to dig a lot harder and generally avoid most of 'the charts' ~

pop/rock is here for good it looks like. classic rock was less about popularity and more about the skill/artistry today it's about looks and music videos and the actual music is just background noise, so thinks will not be the same as it once was. still, i like alot of the rock bands out today, gotta go with the times....and it's emo and alternative rock mixed with punk....

rock is alive as long as it lives in your heart, hey i love the old stuff but some of the new stuff is good too. music interests changes from one year to the next, it like fashion it always comes back in style if you wait long enough.
