1-Keep a regular sleep schedule.
2-Get your bedroom conducive to favoring you falling asleep and sleeping through the night.
a.Be sure that the bed you sleep in is only for the purpose to sleep:

i could really relate to you... i was very active at school. after a day or two though i really feel sleepy. here are some tips i think are helpful:
1. do not think about it. the more u think about it, the more your mind gets excited, the more your heart pumps and the more you can't sleep.
2. try not to sleep during the day. when you're really feeling sleepy, do some exercises or go out. try avoiding places where you could lie and fall asleep like the bed or the couch.
3. if you want to sleep by 12:00, get yourself in the mood for sleeping by 11:00. what i mean is this: an hour before you sleep, slow down things a bit. avoid loud music. avoid the computer, ipods and other electronic devices.
4. make sleeping a fun time. get a comfty matress, good pillows and nice bed sheet. u can even wear pajamas, all these things set your mood and tells your mind it's time to sleep.
5. do some routines before sleeping. if you're spiritual, consider praying. if you're studious, consider reading outside your room. don't do something that excites you however.
6. don't rush everything. you're not going to sleep well tomorrow. it's a gradual process. you must focus. tomorrow try to sleep by 2:30. then the next day by 2:00, then 1:00 and so on.
7. try to eat healthy, there are some vegetables and fruits that helps u sleep better. try to eat green leafy vegetables. eat fruits rich in potassium like bananas to help you be energetic during the day.
8. feel fresh. make sure you brush your teeth, wash your feet. you can even take a bath but do that an hour before you sleep. itching makes sleeping a pain in the a**.
9. drink lots of water. water helps balance the chemicals in the body.
10. get exposed to the sun during daytime, at least for several minutes. this will tell your pineal gland (also known as the body clock) that it is time to wake up and do stuff. by the time you're sleeping, lessen the brightness in the room to get you in the mood for sleeping.

i hope those tips help. good luck with yer sleeping and school!

Try eating chocolate. SERIOUSLY!!!
Its supposed to keep a person awake, but it puts me to sleep faster than drugs of any type. HONESTLY!!!!
So, if you try chocolate after dinner, it may help you go to sleep quicker.
You could also try reading, anything and everything.
Try watching tv without blinking your eyes 8 - 10 hours before you have to get up for the day.
If you learn of another solution, PLZ let me know about it so I can try it.

First you must stop fall asleep once you reach home. It is about attitude. Sorry to telling the truth. or force yourself to do something else before you sleep at night. keep doing it for few weeks non breakable, you will able to sleep at night.
Once you break once, you must re do again for few weeks.
Trust it or not. try it.

It is because you took a nap when you get home taht you end up sleeping later. During the weekend, do NOT take a nap no matter how tired you are or if you do, keep pushing your nap time later until it becomes your midnight bed time.

Something that helps for me is to get a cold pack under my neck. You can buy them at any WalMart.
