The Dems refuse to believe common economic sense which says that lower taxes increase prosperity. The Democratic politicians just want control how we spend our money, so they want to take larger and larger amounts of it.

Considering that 90% of the wealth is concentrated in less than 10% of the population, exactly where else do you expect to get funds for wars like Iraq?

Seriously. A country takes money to run. Almost all the wealth is concetrated in a tiny percentage of the population. So what do you do for funds?

You have to raise taxes on those with the cash, cut spending or both.

Raising taxes on the poor does nothing. Hardly any government comes from the lowest 40% of the population. In fact, they could be not be taxed at all and it would barely dent federal tax revenue.

And you apprently oppose raising taxes on the rich. So you're last option is to cut spending.

So when you're looking to cut spending, ideally you go after the largest item on your budget. In our case, it's defense (almost 70% of the government budget).

Good luck getting that one through.

Next item: Everything else. Everything from NASA to the CDC. And you'd need a big cut across the board in order to pay for the Iraq war.

Or you do what this administration does. Massive borrowing. Which puts everyone in debt.

It has nothing to do with envy. Just fairness. Even Bill Gates and Warren Buffett will tell you that they should be taxed more. What textbook says that it makes economic sense to place the major tax burdent on the poor and middle class?
