the Pacific Ocean in the area called the South China Sea ... I once saw sunlight reflecting off the surface of a very calm moment [for the sea] and this sunlight was like dappled large languid moments of color, and I noticed that there was bright vivid "sunlight thru the leaf" green splashing in the never-still patterns
this was seen from a ship at sea
20 years later I was reading Michener's "Tales of the South Pacific" and I saw it again in his description ... and I *knew* that he had seen the same ocean that I saw that once.

The Pacific ocean, the reason for that is that I came to Canada, accros the Pacific by ship when I was a baby, my parents brought me into Canada when I was 9 mths, old the first time then we returned to England by ship, and returned to Canada once more, then from there we took the train to Winnipeg Manitoba, and I have never been back to England since.

I've never been to the ocean. The Gulf of Mexico West of the Mississippi kind of sucks though.
