Racism exists in every culture, every country in the world. I just watched a report that the BBC was doing about Ugandans attacking and killing Asian looking people. We may have racist
among us, but we are not the exception. America is the most
racially diverse nation on earth. So why do we continue to beat
ourselves up over race?

Of course we can do better, but we've entered a time when people who are not racist are being accused of racism. I was accused of being a racist for speaking up against the Dubai ports deal. I am accused of being a racist for speaking up against illegal immigration. Race is used by
some who don't want progress.

Ok Cassandra, but at some time the self examination has to end and decisions have to be made. We can't make any decisions today,
because everyone is too busy self examining.
You do understand that some people, who claim
to be antiracist, actually foment racial divison, because they profit from it?

LeAnne, I wasn't referring to any one individual.
I was referring to us as a people, a nation.

There is and always will be bias, jealousy, angst, anger, and hatred among people based on race, religion, economic status, physical disabilities or talents, sex, sexuality, etc., etc.
You can not legislate this out of people as it is part of human nature.
There is nothing inherently wrong with having personal views, morals, and values and comparing them to those of others.
We are not always going to agree with each other, approve of everything someone else does or see eye to eye.
The great thing about the United States is that we don't always have to agree, we have freedom of association and we have government protections that allow us to live our lives to our own end as long as we stay within the limits of the law.
Our Constitution and laws protect us from government discrimination but not personal discrimination.
You also do not have the right to not be offended.
It is really sickening to see all the political correctness that is trying to be shoved down our throats on a daily basis.

because most people do not know who they are
if you know who you are with out a reasonable doubt
then any one could say anything to you and it would not matter
because you know that whatever negative they said agenst you to hurt you just can't because you know who you are
the problem come in to play when you not sure of yourself and then you can be hurt by any statement against you
look at Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson these two are hurting men they always play the race card it may not even pertain to them but boy they sure put on a show it is a political issue with them and as long as it can be a political issue racism will be around
BUT IT CAN STOP FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE AND STAND TRUE TO IT
look at Bush whether like him or not he is constantly being pounded but stays true to what he believe he just will not waver
look at the three Duke La-cross team players they held on to their core statement and believes and threw tremendous odds were found to be Innocent even threw a corrupt court system the one thanked his family for helping him keep his focus and staying true to who he was he did not fall apart he maintained who he was
look at all the Dem's especially Hillery who were for the war now because its not going as they would like it to go they are jumping ship they do not know who they are they are moving with the tide now and i trust we as Americans will see who they really are and vote them out

The fact that racism is widespread does not excuse it--and evil should be confronted whenever and wherever it appears.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that enough good men do nothing."

You might pause to ponder that the reason we do so well is that we do look at ourselves, examine our behavior and attitudes, and try to improve.
The unexamined life isn't worth living and the unexamined country isn't worth living in

Truly intelligent people don't beat themselves up over race.
Racism is a sign of ignorance or stupidity - or both - simple as that.
