the question: during his career, the probability that Babe Ruth would get a hit was 0.342. what is the probability that Babe Ruth would NOT get a hit in two consecutive times at bat?

If .342 is the probability he'll hit, then 1-.342 or .658 is the probability that he won't get a hit one time at bat. For two consecutive times, just multiply one time by one time or 0.658 x 0.658 for the answer. He was a great pitcher too, by the way.
