Are you nice to nerds because they help you with your calculus?
Are you nice to them so other people think you're nice?
Are you nice to them because you are a nice person?

Are you mean to them to seem more popular?
Are you just mean to them?
Are you mean to them because they're wierd?

Do you ignore them?

Other?

Just wondering what the popular people thought... As you can tell from my Avatar, I'm a nerd.

Thanks for looking.

I'm particularly popular but if I were popular I would be nice to nerds and even be friends with nerds because I'll look back on the day when I was a nerd. ( personally I think nerds are better than geeks) Being popular isn't everything. Sure you'll have more friends but at least you'll get good grades. I think no ones a nerd just different. I am a nerd and I don't care. I like being a nerd because the more people talk about me the more it might express my individuality.

considering lots of ppl already answered this (well before i did) i doubt what i say will be read but wever (Kappa Mikey anyone?)

ANYway im not a popular person but im not a nerd ( i do care about my grades and do well in school but most of the time i'd rather be doing something other than schoolwork and occastionally, when im bored, i like watching old kid shows (though im not 12 im 14) like Hey Arnold and As told by Ginger, a show called Kappa Mikey (which apparently noone watches) etc on the old nickolodian channels)
I don't like classify ppl into sterotypes but i guess sense you openly admitted nerdyness ill use that word

Im generally nice to them as long as their not cocky about their intelligence. Being around a nerd is more relaxing then having to stress over every word or hair out of place when talking to the "popular" bunch.

who decides who's popular? thats a good question to ask.

Eventually "nerds" will be the new popular once technology advances to a point where just being popular isn't enough to keep up in the world

Well, I wasn't particularly popular, but I'm answering anyway.

I am nice to nerds because I am nice, and I assume they will be nice back. If they're being really weird, I'll ignore them. Besides, I tend to have a thing for the slightly shy and geeky guys, I don't know, never mind.

I try to be nice to everyone, until someone gives me a reason not to be. Nerds are no different, other than they seem smarter at a different level then I am. Throughout high school and college, it was a trade-off. They helped me with math and science, and I helped them with English and art. Even now in the working world, my sweet nerdy friends help me with computer stuff and I decorate their walls with my art. Takes everyone to make a world worth living in - no point in being mean. And you are cute in your little picture...

omg! when i was in school i terrorized what i thought were nerdy people. which was just about everyone that wasn't my close friend. I even gave some teachers that i thought were dorks some serious crap too. I kinda feel bad now when i see one of them in town or something, I can still see the fear in their eyes. I have approached a few of them and chit chatted alittle to show them that im not mean anymore.
I wasnt mean to get more popular, I guess i did it cause i wanted everyone to know who was "the man" of the school.
now that i look back, i realize how stupid i was.

When I was in high school, we made fun of nerds and made them feel bad. Now, I realize how horrible that was and I regret it. Plus, most of them have now become more successful than us popular people. The teenage years are so messed up, no matter what generation your in.

You should be nice to everyone (unless they're obviously being rude). That "nerd" has feelings and emotions and he/she just might be a "nerd" b/c everyone has labeled them as such. Give 'em a chance.

im in highschool... these days there are no popular people. there are people who are popular in their particular group. and those who are the outcasts in their group. there are people who everyone knows for the wrong reasons and peopl ewho everyone knows for good reasons. everyone can be popular if they want. but it doesnt have to be with the typical highschool jocks who drink and score all the chicks. i dont concider those guys popular, i consider them jerks. you can be popular in a club you are in, with the people you eat lunch with, on your sports team, or even at a party if you have confidence.

Dude..........School and the real world are two different planets!

When you get out of MIT and you hop into your BMW to cruse...The "Popular" people are going to be the ones that say, "Fill er up mister"...Or "Want fries with that?"........
Oh yea...Odds are the prom queen will be nestled cozy in her trailer with her five kids...

Plot your course and ignore the fluff that surrounds you..

people should not be classed in groups and judged. ignoring someone due to their intelligence seems like one of the silliest things I've heard. people should be treated with respect , whatever their social status, economic status, religion, race or gender.
