It's okay for them because they have a right to choose which network they will debate on. Edwards joined them in this as well. The entire journalistic and news world laughs at FOX News for being so obviously biased. Even their shows where they have both conservative and liberal viewpoints are set up so the conservative always ends up looking the best in the end. They are a joke.
MSNBC will host the first Presidential debates - for both parties. The Democrats will be on April 26th and the Republicans on May 3rd.
I'm not a liberal but I have to disagree with you about debates not being a central deciding factor. People frequently make their final decision after watching the debates.

This would be an excellent idea for Hillary and Obama to have a debate as it would help clarify things. Of course, in the end, the choice is up to them if they choose to have a debate or not. I believe that "freedom of choice" may have something to do with it, but a debate between them would be a good thing. It certainly would stimulate their campaigns.

If they truly believe in their message and platform is the 'best way' they should be willing to debate it anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.
By choosing not to debate in a certain forum make me feel that they don't really believe in what they are trying to 'sell' the voters on.
Let's not forget the debate on fox was to be sponsored by the democratic party of Nevada.

It is her campaign she can do what ever she wants, go where ever she wants, debate whomever she wants. Whether others like it or not.
It is also very early in the election to be making interparty debates.
If you are referring to Fox ask yourself this. Would you deliberatly go into a situation where you would be cross examined rather than simply questioned? If it is Fox people and only Fox people doing the questions and moderating it is going to be biased just as it would be if it had been one of the alphabet networks who would do the same sort of thing.
Clinton and Obama are not going to fall into the trap.

When you are in the lead, regardless of what your doing, you don't want to do anything that could jeopardize that lead. For example. The New York Mets baseball team is in first place. I know, far fetched...but anyway, they are required to play 10 games. Someone at the bottom says to the Mets, let's play, and the Met's say,no. why? because if they play an extra game and loose, they won't be in first place any more. Same with Hilary and obama. They both think that they are in the lead, and don't want to do anything where they have the opportunity to make a mistake.

It's not OK.....it is cowardice. If they are scared of Fox News asking the tough questions that every American should want to hear, I don't want our Countries fate in their hands.
Because it is Fox News has got to be the most lame and weak stance I have heard in some time.
Why don't they come clean with their lemmings and tell them they stand for nothing and therefore have nothing to debate.

Fox News just doesn't have the credibility for a high-profile debate... period, end of story.

Actually each candidate has a right to run their campaigns as they wish. If it is not in their best interest why should they have to debate. This includes the reds. .
