why are they banned by "federal law" in oklaholma? why are they taken away at times such as lunch as you have like 30 minutes so its not distracting anyone except maby you its not distubing anyone your not causeing problems with it your are NOT in class at a time of day when they are NOT trying to teach anything and you just have it out NOT talking on it NOT senting text messages or anything why are they taken away for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AT ALL?!

There's no "federal law" banning cellphones in schools ANYWHERE, much less Oklahoma. If those school administrators told you that "federal law" is the reasoning behind it, call them out as the lying theives that they are.
justbeingher: a couple years back, a kid "illegally" had his cellphone on him when his teacher suffered a stroke in class. He was able to call 911 and have someone there a helluva lot faster than running all the way to an administrator's office to notify them. If you don't like it, move to Iran.

Cell phones should be banned from all public and private schools tomorrow! There is no reason for the phones in school. If you need to call home use the office phone. Need to talk to a friend wait to a break. The cheating kids do with the phones is out of control,distracting annoying and down right rude. These kid will live without talking on a cell phone for a few hours. They might even save a few brain cell (because several can't afford to loose any more). Study hard make A's and B's go home and talk yourself to sleep.

sadly schools don't listen to kids because they're kids, and they just want to control you.
if your parents support you, get them to call or go into the school and have them demand that either 1. your cellphone does not get removed from your person or 2. if it does, you get your property back at the end of the day. trust me, after a week of having to deal with you in the office after class, they won't hassle you.
if alot of students are pissed about it, why not put together a walkout protest? maybe during lunch hour, though you might get more people if it's during class time ;) at worst they will suspend all of you (then call to the aclu) and at best they will get off your case

Cell phones should be turned off in class and used only in case ofemergency. You're in school. If everyone did that then there wouldn't be a problem ,but people are stupid and ruin it for others.

because its not needed in schools. school is not for socializing, its for education. if you have an emergency or need to call parents go to the office. that simple.
